Libra Plast - Bulkhead Ship Doors, Fire Doors, Hatches, Cabinets and Containers

Libra Plast's main focus is providing the global maritime industry with a large variety of external bulkhead ship doors. The company also provides bulkhead hatches and watertight, weather-tight and spray-tight A60 fire doors.

For the offshore industry, Libra Plast supplies various GRP cabinets and containers for storage of survival suits, lifejackets, equipment, etc.

Bulkhead doors

Libra Plast offers steel, glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) and aluminium-hinged bulkhead doors. The company produces doors according to requests and in accordance with the classifications for being watertight (in water columns up to 15m), weather-tight and spray-tight.

Its doors can be equipped with a quick acting (QA) locking system single-dog or wheel operation.

Fire-rated A60 doors

Libra Plast offers fire-rated A60 doors and proudly holds a DNV MED type approval certificate. The doors can be equipped with an A60 porthole.

Marine door accessories

Libra Plast has a large variety of door accessories to supplement its equipment, such as windows, locks, door holders, door hooks, limit switches and padlocks.

GRP cabinets / containers

The company's product portfolio contains different large-scale cabinets and containers which can be used for a variety of applications. These products are mostly used on ferries, cruise boats, offshore vessels and offshore platforms, and their main functionality is storage.

The cabinets and containers are made of GRP material, and are famous for their superb quality, which gives them a very long lifespan. They have very low weight and are maintenance-free. They are also equipped with stainless-steel hinges and a toggle system.

The company's technical department is very flexible and can meet most enquiries for custom-designed contents and colours for GRP cabinets / containers.

Classified bulkhead and fire doors

Libra Plast works closely with classification companies in order to meet every customer demand. It has type-approval certificates for its weather-tight doors and a MED certificate from DNV for its A60 and watertight doors. In addition, the company works alongside Rina, ABS, Bureau Veritas and Lloyd's Register in order to satisfy regulations and its customers' preferences.

The company is also introducing ISO 9001 quality safety procedures for manufacturing in order to ensure the highest quality standard possible.

Marine door sales and service

Libra Plast's compact sales department possesses experienced staff that can offer the best prices and fastest deliveries possible.

The company's head office is located at Hareid in Western Norway, and it has production facilities both in Hareid and in Latvia. With production of approximately 7,000 door units each year, Libra Plast delivers to well over 100 new buildings per annum.

The technical department provides every customer with a 2D CAD drawing, and Libra Plast is now also introducing 3D drawings into its system. Its customer support department is highly focused on short reply time and high quality after-sales service.
