Originally developed through research by Wickham Marine Service, FUELMAG™ was developed and manufactured in New Zealand in 1985. FUELMAG is a market leader in diesel fuel treatment by magnetic induction with many reports of benefits, such as cleaner combustion equipment and reduction, and even elimination of smoke with improved engine performance and increased economy. Whilst these benefits are a bonus, the real aim is to control the diesel bug by a non-polluting means, to eliminate the premature blockage of fuel filters and the sudden loss of engine power, and to eliminate the corrosive wear associated with the diesel bug. Recent research by the University of Wales at Bangor (UK), using a Fuel Mag unit in controlled experimentation has confirmed the performance of FUELMAG as reliable and advantageous. The results of these tests are now under independent review by Lloyd's Register of Shipping and Lloyd's of London personnel. FUELMAG™ FUEL PROTECTION EQUIPMENTFUELMAG controls microbial contamination in diesel fuel, lube and hydraulic oils and other light distillates. As the new generation of fuel protection equipment FUELMAG™ insures the following,
LONG-LASTING FUEL FILTRATIONTraditional filtration, designed to remove particles and water from fuel, have difficulty keeping up with the removal of the by-products of bacteria and fungi. The use of biocides often aggravates this filtration problem while traditional maintenance programs call for changing filter cartridges every 100-200 hours. With clean bug-free fuel, filters should last for at least another 1,000 hours. Backed by studies from The School of Ocean Sciences at The University of Wales with SGS and Bureau Veritas Certification and supported by a lifetime warranty, FUELMAG is the ultimate protection. NATURAL FUEL SYSTEMS PROTECTIONFUELMAG operates by providing a magnetic field, which 'plasmolises' microbe cell walls as contaminated fuel passes through it. This causes the microbial mass to be ‘broken apart’. As a result, the microbial particles are reduced into a size that enables treated micro-organisms to pass through the filter (instead of blocking it) and hence to be consumed by the engine combustion process. Unlike a biocide, this technology is the only known natural way of protecting fuel systems from microbial contamination. A full range of products is available to fit any size fuel supply, in both British Standard (BSP) and National Pipe (NP) thread ranging from 8mm up to 12in. Fuel Mag is easily installed in the fuel line, between the tank and the filter. These units are direct flow through and self cleaning with no moving parts. FLEXIBLE FUEL LINES PROTECTIONSuitable for flexible fuel lines and rated to 4bar pressure, this range is perfectly suitable for the modern common rail diesel engines available in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm sizes. HARD FUEL LINE PROTECTIONOur FM ISO and NPT range is suitable for hard fuel lines and rated 6.9bar up to 10bar for the larger units. Suitable for fuel lines ranging from ¼in up to 2in, it is manufactured from pressure die cast marine grade aluminum - LM6. FLANGED FUEL PROTECTION EQUIPMENTOur flanged range is manufactured according to customer specification form either stainless or carbon steel rated 25 bar. The flow rates is consistent with an unrestricted flow path for fuel systems as required by ABS ship construction rules for fuel piping systems with a maximum working pressure of 16bar. We also have the capacity to provide customissed flanged units, to meet the specific requirements of our customers. These are manufactured according to customer specification from either stainless or carbon steel rated 14 bar.
