(Sandefjord, October 31, 2005): TTS Marine Shanghai and TTS Bohai have signed a contract with MultiPlus Solutions for the implementation of the ERP-system MultiPlus. The system will be used at the company's offices in Dailan and Shanghai. It represents a breakthrough in the Chinese market, and the Norwegian company has announced plans for establishing MultiPlus Solutions China Ltd.
MultiPlus Solutions was a Danish company until 2002, when Watermark Group announced that the headquarters and licenses were to be moved to Norway. In other words; the agreement is no less than an international breakthrough for Norwegian software.
”The contract comes as the result of roughly two years of intensive effort in the Chinese market”, says Per Olav Helgeland, Managing Director of MultiPlus Solutions. Helgeland also states that the company has held a low profile, waiting for the right projects and customers.
”Contacts and references are of vital importance in China. It is difficult to move on without connections. The 17-Group has been an important partner, building a valuable network of contacts. And now, the upcoming project will contribute to the continued effort in China”, he says.
MultiPlus Solutions initiated the cooperation with the 17-Group (17th Group of Norway Ltd) in October 2004. They have helped several Norwegian companies to establish business in China, as far back as 1983. The 17-Group, led by Martin Nickelsen, has opened otherwise closed doors for MultiPlus Solutions, especially within the shipyard and maritime segments. MultiPlus Solutions was also present at the Shiport China 2004 trade fare in Dailan - June 2004. Since then, representatives have visited China several times, and the next trip includes presence at the Marintec fare in Shanghai.
Multiplus Solutions will deliver a complete ERP system to TTS Marine in Shanghai and TTS Bohai in Dalian. The main focus is project management and the production of ship and offshore cranes. The selected modules include finance, purchasing, logistics, supply management, drawing and document management and human resources. The training period starts in November, and the installation sets off in January. Before the end of the first quarter, MultiPlus will be fully operational, adjusted to fit the Chinese market.
The project plays an important role in establishing a running business in China, and set-up of MultiPlus Solutions China Ltd. The first employee is already recruited - based in Shanghai. Philip Lim (Managing Director) has a solid background from the maritime industry. He has worked with both 3D and ERP.
