OCTOPUS-TMS is the perfect cost-efficient solution when it comes to measuring ship motions, velocities and accelerations of vessels with a high degree of accuracy and a large flexibility. OCTOPUS-TMS is used to detect the risk for parametric roll, cargo shift prevention, slamming warning and crane tip monitoring.
With the OCTOPUS weather window, the crew is always informed when the operation can start or should be stopped. This means more days available for operation, better preparation of projects and less risk for damages.
The OCTOPUS-DP functionality gives offshore vessels the possibility to make optimum use of a safe time window for their weather-sensitive operations. Where traditional DP systems try to keep the vessel's position during an offshore operation, OCTOPUS-DP takes it one step further. A forecast is given if the vessel is capable of maintaining her position and heading in changing environmental and weather conditions, hours and days ahead.
Amarcon's heavy weather decision support solution gives you clear advice for safe navigation in heavy weather. This prevents high lashing loads, loss of containers, sloshing, slamming or green water damage.
The hull stress monitoring and fatigue prediction gives crew the possibility to monitor hull stresses and remaining fatigue life in any construction detail. Warnings at high stress levels or fatigue rates are automatically given.
The OCTOPUS system can also be extended with wave monitoring sensors which warn the crew of critical wave conditions.
OCTOPUS-Online allows cargo and ship owners to be constantly informed on the location and status of their property. Frequent reports are sent from the vessel to a central database server, which is accessible from the internet.
