Measure Propeller Torque in the Barred Speed Range with TorqueTrak Telemetry Instruments

22 June 2009

Even with the propeller shaft rotating in only one direction, ahead, the torque on the propeller shaft oscillates (torsional vibration) back and forth from positive to negative as the prop passes through the barred speed range.

What is the magnitude of this torsional vibration and is it potentially damaging to the propulsion system? Find out by measuring the true mechanical torque on the rotating prop shaft using TorqueTrak telemetry instruments from Binsfeld Engineering.

Any size shaft, any torque level; Binsfeld instruments will show you the true mechanical torque data and then informed decisions can be made about what adjustments, if any, should be made.
