ANALOGUE AND DIGITAL SPEED GOVERNORS

Analogue and digital governors from HEINZMANN are known worldwide as products with state-of-the-art technology. They are used for diesel and gas engines and turbines in different power ranges from 30kW up to 10,000kW. Marine applications include single or dual engines sets, master / slave operations and more.

POSEIDON – DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MARINE OPERATION

The HEINZMANN digital controls of the product series HELENOS I, II and III and PRIAMOS I, II and III are primarily designed for the control of ship propulsion engines. The digital THESEUS system is used for controlling the on-board mains supply. Different versions of the control units are available, depending on engine size, scope of functions and housing protection type.

As HEINZMANN actuators are powered electrically, there is no need for any mechanical drives. The displacement torque is generated electrically in both directions, but current consumption remains remarkably low. In addition, the actuators are equipped with a contactless feedback system.

Programming can be done by means of the Hand-Held Programmer PG 02 and HP 03, or using the enhanced features of the HEINZMANN PC Program DcDesk. Both systems can be used to display measured values during operation. In addition, the SATURN Remote Communication System is available.

Type approvals of the devices, as required for marine applications, have been issued by a number of classification societies.

MARINE GENERATOR SETS

Digital and analogue accessories allow island or mains operation with automatic starting sequence, synchronising, KW loadsharing, KVAR control and other load management functions.

The Digital Generator Management THESEUS DGM-01 is a control and monitoring unit for three-phase power generation systems with the ability to handle synchronous AC generators and groups of generators in all operational modes. It provides optional features such as gen-set and engine protections (ANSI), start / stop sequencing and an integrated engine speed governor.

A variety of communication interfaces allow the transfer of operational data between the DGM-01 and surrounding systems such as PLCs or SCADAs.

The available operating modes are:

• Isolated parallel operation
• Mains parallel operation
• Controlled mains supply

ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION

In 1996, the sophisticated controls DARDANOS for electronic fuel injection systems were introduced to the market. The digital systems provide optimised fuel efficiency, increase of engine power, lower gaseous emissions and reduced smoke, especially during acceleration and start up. These controls with all required approvals are now also available for marine applications.

POWER SUPPLIES, ELECTRONIC CONTROLLERS AND ACTUATORS

As well as control systems and generator sets, HEINZMANN also provides several other products. We offer a wide range of high quality power supplies for all control requirements. Our comprehensive range of analogue and digital electronic controllers includes the new dual-fuel digital governor with drives for three actuators.

Our leading range of all electric actuators, with up to 90° rotation and 180Nm torque, includes units with hazardous area certification.

MARINE AND TRACTION CONTROL ACCESSORIES

A range of more than 30 electronic accessory units for generator, marine and traction control is available.

• Synchroniser - used for the synchronisation of a single set to another parallel running set in island operation or for synchronisation of an island set to the mains
• Load sharing - measures the delivered power from a generator set or the power taken from a user group
• Load control unit - with the load control unit and the load sharing unit it is possible to set and control the required power supply from the mains or the desired power feed into the mains
• Power supply back-up system - has an emergency supply by batteries, so it ensures the govenor supply voltage of 24V for about 2hs during mains breakdown

Furthermore, our configuration and maintenance tools provide all levels of test, measurements and adjustment facilities for use with analogue or digital control equipment.
