Actionair - Marine Fire and Smoke Control Dampers and Control Fan Coil Units

Actionair specialises in the design and manufacture of top quality fire, smoke and air control dampers and airside and waterside control fan coil units. These products prevent the spread of smoke and fire, saving lives as well as keeping damage to property and contents to an absolute minimum.

The A-60 Marine Fire Damper has been specially designed for inclusion in marine and offshore projects, and is a recent addition to Actionair's wide range of products, which include automatic smoke and fire dampers, heavy-duty air control and shut-off dampers, high operating temperature smoke control and extract dampers, electro mechanical smoke and fire damper control systems and removable insulated access doors.

ACTIONAIR A60 MARINE FIRE DAMPER

Actionair has, for many years, been associated in the design, development and manufacture of automatic fire and smoke damper products to the offshore and marine industry. The A-60 Marine Fire Damper has been designed for inclusion in air conditioning and ventilation systems and is tested and approved for fitting to class A-60 divisions (bulkheads and decks), with a minimum length of 600mm insulation. It provides the complete solution for shipboard fire safety engineering strategies.

ELECTRICAL THERMAL RELEASE (ETR) FAIL-SAFE

The A-60 Marine Fire Damper is suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications, with airflow in either direction. Fail-safe is by means of a unique and patented Electrical Thermal Release (ETR) which operates at 72°C, or if power supply is interrupted. The ETR incorporates a triple safety feature, including an ingenious device that ensures the fail-safe status of the damper if the ETR is not fitted onto the ductwork. A manual test switch allows periodic operation of the damper for testing purposes, simulating actual fail-safe release under fire conditions.

CASING AND CONFIGURATIONS

The A-60 dampers can be used where the maximum system pressure is up to 2000Pa and duct velocities to 15m/s. The dampers are test-approved to IMO Fire Test Procedures Code, Annex 1, Part 3 and comply to Marine Equipment Directive 96/98/EC. They are corrosion tested to BSEN60068-2-52, severity 2 conditions and vibration tested to BS EN 60068-2-6 (5Hz - 350Hz @ 2g). They are housed in 40mm flanged style casing in rectangular or circular format, and sizes range from 100mm x 100mm to 750mm x 750mm (single module), with a multiple approved size of 1580mm x 750mm.

170MM AND 230MM DEEP WATERSIDE CONTROL FAN COIL UNITS FOR HORIZONTAL APPLICATIONS

The Actionair Hydropac series PHW 170 and series PHW 230 are suitable for operation against moderate duct resistances, using chilled water cooling medium and low pressure hot water heating medium. Temperature control is by means of modulating 4-port diverting valves on heating and cooling, operated via a standalone or BMS temperature controller and a room or return air sensor.

Actionair also manufactures the Access/Shield series O removable insulated access doors, which are designed for inclusion in insulated or uninsulated ductwork, for access to dampers, duct cleaning inspection and maintenance purposes.
