Delta fire detection and alarm systems

The revolutionary Delta fire alarm systems from Eltek Fire & Safety by Honeywell are not dependent on size (type of vessel) or complexity (integration), and have a decentralised solution, which complies with the "safe return to port" classification (which will enter in 2010), a conveniently placed operation panel, and detection and alarm modules as black boxes in technical cabinets.

The Delta system provides you easy communication towards other systems, for example via OPC, ESPA 444 LON-Gateway, Profibus, modbus, SMS, modem and alarm transmitter.

IQ8Quad - four-dimensional safety in a single smoke detector

The new IQ8Quad detector generation uses state-of-the-art detection technology and set new standards in terms of safety and effectiveness. It possess a built-in alarm device incorporating up to four different functionalities: detection, optical alarm via flash lamp, acoustic alarm via sounder and acoustic alarm speech messages.

Multisensor smoke detectors

Our IQ8Quad multisensor detectors have two built-in optical smoke sensors with different scattered light angles as well as additional heat detector sensor evaluation for detecting everything from smouldering fires to open fires with consistent response performance.

There are several types of multisensors:

• OTblue - optical heat detector to guarantee the early detection of high energy fires; it provides high sensitivity to reliably detect the smallest fire particles by using blue LED light instead of infrared light
• O²T - even in the most challenging conditions, two integrated optical smoke sensors with different scatter angles and additional heat sensor provide optimum detection of light and dark smoke, and prevent false alarms
• OTG – multi-sensor detector with integrated optical smoke detector, heat detector and gas sensor for detecting carbon monoxide (CO) in order to identify fires ranging from smouldering to open fires

Even with an aesthetic low profile design, the detectors are provided with a spacious mounting base for easy installation. In addition, unused wires can be directly looped through the base.

The detector loops

The esserbus provides a unique combination of extensive loop lengths, free topology and non-restricted fix of different devices up to 126 units per loop. Since automatic isolators are present in every detector the loop can be fault-tolerant for break or short circuit at any point. The system utilizes decentralised intelligence with advanced signal processing in each detector.

Alarm signalling device

Any alarm signalling device is controlled by the panel, whether it is a traditional sounder circuit or an alarm device integrated in the advanced IQ8Quad detectors. From these detectors four signals can be programmed – two for alarm signalling and evacuation in the case of fire, and two for other events (e.g. 'General Alarm' and 'Abandon Ship'). Each signal can consist of up to four signal components.
