LCD-TFT MARINE MONITORS

As well as manufacturing a range of standard marine monitors approved to IEC 60945, the KME team also have the ability to design and build custom designs to suit your every need.

IEC 60945 APPROVED MARINE MONITORS

KME's state-of-the-art marine approved monitors have been specifically designed to withstand the harsh maritime environment, and many are certified by an independent test house to meet the stringent demands of IEC 60945, the international standard for maritime navigation and radio communications equipment and systems.

The marine-approved monitor ranges are sealed from IP65 upwards, and within the range KME also offers monitors suitable for Electronic Chart Display Information Systems (ECDIS).

Other certifications include IEC 60936-1 (for radar), IEC 60945 (navigation) and IEC 61174 (ECDIS).

LCD MARINE MONITORS

KME's marine-approved LCD monitors provide a wide variety of solutions for the marine industry. The different ranges include advanced deep dimming 2000:1 slow-scan legacy signal (multi-scan) versions which offer non-standard video signals acceptance, AC and DC power supply, enhanced vibration and shock resistance, video buffer (multi-drop), and RS232 remote control.

TRANSFLECTIVE AND SUNLIGHT VIEWABLE DISPLAYS

The marine industry is reliant on the best-quality equipment available to keep their crew and craft safe in demanding environmental conditions, and that is why KME have developed Heliobond.

Utilising transflective technology to erradicate glare from the sun and enable near-perfect daylight viewing, KME have, in Heliobond, provided a solution to both protect the screen from the elements without losing any of the viewing quality, and reduce the power consumption to improve the reliability.

TRANSFLECTIVE LCD SCREENS

Previous attempts to protect transflective LCD screens against outside elements have failed due to counteractive light reflections, but KME have developed a gel layer that bonds the protective glass to the transflective display, thus reducing reflection and enabling the optical technology to work at its best.

The optically bonded glass produces near-perfect quality by matching the refractive index between the glass and panel, which means that the screen is still effective but protected to be used in the demanding marine elements.

HEAD, CHASSIS AND RACK-MOUNTED DISPLAYS

Manufactured in three standard formats of lightweight head, compact chassis and conventional rack-mount displays, all our monitors offer versatile mounting options for flexibility. The standard rack-mounted displays are designed for 19in equipment racks and the head-mounted displays are designed for arm or wall-mount applications.

Built for your needs, and including touch-screen capability, the monitors come in a choice of paint colours with non-glare safety glass as standard. They can operate at 12VDC or 15VDC to 30VDC, as well as 110VAC or 230VAC.

CUSTOMISED LCD DISPLAYS

Along with the standard range of approved monitors, KME's dedicated team can custom design an LCD display to suit your needs. Additional extras that are popular on these displays include touch-screen capability, sun visors, KME's trademarked Helioview and Heliobond technologies, and legacy signal capability.

LCD FOR CRT REPLACEMENT MONITORS

Now that the CRT era has ended, the majority of CRT monitors are no longer being manufactured. Along with our standard LCD screens, KME now specialise in LCD for CRT replacement monitors that are designed to fit into existing CRT chassis and are physically and mechanically compatible with the existing CRT monitors, which handle slow-scan (legacy) signals.
