Specialized in HVAC commissioning, Balance offers its services worldwide. Additionally, Balance offers to take responsibility for HVAC commissioning management. HVAC equipment design and testingBalance enters the construction process of major ships or buildings when the installation of ventilation systems is being finalized. Its core service is to ensure that the systems are installed, functionally tested and capable of being operated and maintained to conform to design intent and actual needs. Acknowledging that commissioning of ventilations systems is an integrated part of any building process, Balance offers to take responsibility for the overall management of an HVAC system. We can secure proper coordination amongst personnel and thereby avoid delays and mistakes. Knowing from experience that optimal adjustment of ventilation systems often includes noise reduction, Balance undertakes noise measurements and offers solutions to any kind of problem related to noise. HVAC system commissioningBalance initiates the commissioning process of any ventilation system with a thorough examination of the system installed to secure conformity with all details of design and specifications. We check whether all parts of the system are at hand and have been installed in accordance with national building regulations. As far as ships are concerned, we follow the directions of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS). Subsequently, when the system is switched on all functions are examined and the process of air balancing is carried though. Finally, if requested, Balance measures the energy consumption of the HVAC system and finds solutions to lower it. The HVAC system has a significant importance to the amount of energy consumed in any building or vessel. Even when stationary, a modern ocean cruise ship often expends up to 20t of fuel every day to operate the HVAC. Noise reduction for HVAC installationsIn addition to HVAC commissioning, Balance offers expert knowledge on noise reduction. After commissioning a ventilation system, it can carry through sound measurements, investigating whether the installation lives up to the decibel count agreed on in the contract of the constructing entrepreneur. Furthermore, it ensures that standards of building regulations are met. If problems are identified, Balance recommends possible solutions and can also take on the task of solving the problem. To meet this need, Balance has developed Silent Balance, a custom-made noise reduction device, which has proved very effective in solving highly complicated noise problems. Silent Balance has proven its ability at, amongst other places, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark. The concert room of the museum is famous for its excellent acoustics but after a major renovation, the ventilation system caused distracting noise. Silent Balance was installed, and now disk recordings of chamber music take place in the concert room. HVAC site managementInstallation of HVAC systems touches on all parts of a construction process and therefore being on top of possible problems is crucial. Before installation works are initiated, Balance analyzes drawings in order to correct and improve the ventilation system. Conducting changes on drawings is a lot less costly than correcting the work after installation is finalized. If requested, Balance takes on the overall management of the HVAC commissioning. This also includes management and coordination of all HVAC-related parties at the building site. For this purpose, Balance sets up an office at the site. Here, all relevant parties will participate in daily coordination meetings. Work plans, daily obstacles and technical drawings will be coordinated and Balance will ensure that the work of each individual person is carried out in proper order and with good cooperation. HVAC documentationBalance takes pride in providing the clients with detailed documentation of the work performed. Throughout any working process, Balance keeps a system logbook in which daily progress is written down. The book contains principle diagrams of the installation, specifications of design and equipment, and technical drawings on which all measuring points used by Balance are shown. At handover, the logbook is signed by the owner, the main entrepreneur and Balance, and thereby provides the client with a guarantee that work is completed and in order.
