Daikin - Air Conditioners and Refrigeration Units

Daikin Airconditioning (Singapore) was founded in 1968 and is a subsidiary of one of the world's largest manufacturers of air-conditioning equipment, Daikin Industries in Japan. It applies cutting-edge technologies to provide comfort through sophisticated air-conditioning systems for marine, home, educational and recreational needs, now and in the near future.

Marine air-conditioning and refrigeration units

Combining the essence of marine engineering and advanced air-conditioning technology, Daikin's wide diversity of marine products assures high air quality in marine environments. Daikin constantly seeks to provide reliable, environmentally friendly air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, to cater for all types of ships.

Unique rolling and pitching ship motion, onboard space constraints and corrosion-thriving characteristics, are the prime concerns in the marine field. Daikin is successful in refining its marine products to be durable with assured performance quality at reasonable cost, thus proving to be a worthy investment.

Daikin marine products provide:

  • Durability and long service life (low vibration, anti-corrosion, reliable hermetic scroll compressor)
  • Anti-corrosion assurance
  • Compact, resilient design to withstand ship motion and vibration
  • Simple, easy maintenance
  • Low power consumption
  • Friendly to the environment; using HFC refrigerants R404A and R407C in newer models
  • Uncompromising in safety considerations

A wide range of products and models are supplied and customization is possible for certain products. A global network provides quality after-sales service.

Packaged independent and central air-conditioning systems

Daikin has designed various series of packaged air conditioners to ensure high-grade atmosphere in the marine environment. Different models adopting different refrigerants (R22, R404A and R407C) are available for large to small merchant ships, satisfying a wide range of required cooling capacities and power sources used worldwide.

Product features include:

  • Excellent durability
  • Lightweight design
  • Resilient structure specially designed for marine applications
  • Wide operation range
  • Energy-saving
  • Adoption of hermetic scroll compressor
  • Environmentally friendly, using R404A and R407C refrigerants
  • Abundant modification parts assure various applications
  • Easy transportation and installation work
  • Complete set of spare parts provided for certain models

Deck air-conditioning unit

Secured by the concentration of the advanced technology, Daikin has developed three series of self-contained marine air-conditioning units, whereby the condensing unit and air-handling unit are packaged as a single unit. This design provides greater ease, combining all essential components into one.

The main difference identifying each series is the type of refrigerant (R22, R404A and R407C) used. The multiple compressors, of the hermetic scroll type, that are installed in these series for onboard central air-conditioning ensure continuous smooth operation should one compressor become faulty.

Summary of product features:

  • Lightweight, compact design
  • Economical maintenance
  • Adoption of hermetic scroll compressor
  • High performance reliability
  • High static-pressure fan facilitates the use of long ducts
  • Energy saving
  • Latest models use environmentally friendly refrigerants R404A and R407C
  • Easy installation
  • Minimum piping and fieldwork required
  • Lesser refrigerant volume with leak-proof hermetic structure
  • Quiet operation with less vibration makes it suitable for installation in accommodation areas

Galley air conditioners

Galleys are often hot and filled with oily smoke, but quality air-conditioning is guaranteed with Daikin's galley series packaged air-conditioners. These units strictly adhere to the SOLAS treaty, with a high emphasis placed on ensuring safe voyages.

Their design is based on many years of marine type air-conditioner development. Excellent marine technology is incorporated to create the comfortable galley environment that is desired.

Summary of product features:

  • Respond to a wide temperature range
  • Outstanding durable design
  • Excellent performance reliability
  • Adoption of hermetic scroll compressor
  • Highly efficient operation
  • Easy transportation and installation
  • Spare parts are provided as standard accessories
  • High static-pressure system

Variable refrigerant volume air-conditioning systems

Daikin was the first to introduce the revolutionary variable refrigerant volume (VRV) air-conditioning system into the world market, significantly changing the way large multi-room buildings such as commercial skyscrapers and big bungalows are cooled.

Water-chilling and condensing units

Daikin also supplies water-chilling units, small-sized condensing units and DX / chilled water systems.
