Bertil Hjertqvist and Rune Yman founded Alvedoor in 1975. Initially the company focused on contract manufacturing for various industries. Three years later, Alvedoor moved into its present business – designing, producing and selling doors for marine vessels. Today the company has an annual output of over 20,000 marine fire doors and interior fire doors.

We aim to maintain this position through continuous product development and certification to ensure the highest conceivable quality. Alvedoor AB manufactures A–class, B–class and C-class doors to fit all types of bulkhead systems providing high levels of sound and thermal insulation for both the marine sector and the shipping industry.

Since its creation, Alvedoor has manufactured over 250,000 marine fire-classed doors – most of which are still in use today. The extensive door programme is just one feature of our comprehensive service. We also supply a wide range of accessories including lock cases, handles, cylinder key systems and keycard systems.

Looking closely at the installation phase, many of our regular customers appreciate our punctual delivery, flexibility of integration with the wall manufacturers and our ability to quickly handle changes to the specification or extended orders when completing a ship.

INTERNAL MARINE FIRE DOORS

Alvedoor produces a wide range of marine fire doors, suitable for internal use:

B 15 LIGHTWEIGHT HARD-CORE DOOR (B 15 S)

The B 15 S is based on a lightweight hard-core board – it reduces the weight of a standard size B 15 door by 21kg. It is supplied in Alvedoor frame type A or B.

B 15 HARD CORE (B 15 C)

The B 15 C is manufactured in hard-core material with a laminate surface. It is supplied in Alvedoor frame type A or B.

B 15 MINERAL WOOL BASED (B15 M)

Supplied in soft-core material, the B 15 M is designed in mineral wool with the surfaces in PVC-steel, polyester powder coated or laminate. It is supplied in frame type A, B or C.

B 15 HIGH SOUND REDUCTION BY 43dB (B 15 K)

The B 15 K doors have a sound reduction and a ventilation channel. Surface is in PVC-steel, polyester powder coated or laminate. It is supplied in frame A, B or C.

EXTERNAL MARINE FIRE DOORS

The external doors are made of stainless steel, utilise mineral wool insulation, and are supplied in frame type D.

A 15 SOFT-CORE MARINE FIRE DOOR

The A 15 door is made of steel and mineral wool, surface in PVC coated metal, primed or polyester powder coated or with laminate surface.

A 60 CLASSIC DESIGN

The A 60 is supplied in steel and mineral wool in PVC coated metal, primed or polyester powder coated or with laminate surface.

A 60 LIGHTWEIGHT DOOR (A 60 S)

This unique lightweight hard-core based A 60 door reduces weight by over 50% compared with Thermax based doors, 40% compared with traditional A 60 cruise ship models and 25% compared with the classic designed Alvedoor type.

ALVEDOOR DOOR FRAMES

Alvedoor produces several different frame types, all of which have polyester powder coated surfaces.

TYPE A

The type-A frame is designed for different thicknesses of bulkhead, with three or four counterframe sides.

TYPE B

The type-B frame is also designed for different thicknesses of bulkhead, with an insulated top piece and two counterframe sides.

TYPE C

The type-C frame has an insulated top piece for fastening to different types of profiles.

TYPE D

The type-D frame is designed to be welded or bolted to steel.
