Dredging equipment and dredge components

Rockcrush is the manufacturer of Platypus Cutter Suction dredging equipment and dredge components has earned international acclaim in the sand and mineral extraction industries for efficiency, reliability and cost effectiveness.

On-going research and development ensures the dredging equipment is manufactured to offer maximum ease of handling and low maintenance. Years of intensive research and design modification led to the production of a unique "High Speed Vertical Cutter Wheel" which is fitted to the Platypus Dredges and can be adapted to any other new or used dredge.

The Platypus range of economical, compact, and virtually trouble-free units is at the cutting edge of dredging equipment technology.

Rockcrush can also manufacture and fit bucket wheels and rose head cutters, dredgers can be fitted with spuds or a winch-operated anchoring system. All dredges are manufactured suitable for containerisation, affording ease and economy in transport, handling and assembly.

Anchor winches

The Rockcrush Group manufactures anchor winches up to 50mm in diameter with either studlink or shortlink chains.

Trawl winches

The Rockcrush Group's key designers have years of experience in not only designing and building trawl winches but operating them as well, this gives them the key to providing the best product for the market with in depth knowledge of what is needed in the harsh conditions. The Rockcrush Group not only supply trawl winches but will install them on your vessel through to sea trials.

The Rockcrush Group manufactures tugger winches of up to 20 tonnes capacity.

Capstan winches

The Rockcrush Group designs and manufactures capstan winches ranging from simple 100kg 220V units to lift pearl bags from the ocean floor to 30 ton line pull units for mooring large vessels.

Cable hauling winches

Rockcrush Group cable hauling winches have been designed with portability and user friendliness in mind. The Rockcrush Group have standard capstan winch designs for 240V or self contained petrol units from 500kg to 2000kg, these units are lightweight and portable by one or two persons.

For the serious capstan winch operators we have freestanding self contained diesel units with up to 5000kg line pull featuring digital readouts and distance counters, these units are easily transported via utility or light truck. Our self contained drum winches are also commonly used for cable hauling operations, these units range from 1000kg top layer to 6000kg top layer and can be as simple or high tech as you require.

Oceanographic winches
