For more than 40 years, the Jotron Group has specialized in products and systems for airspace and maritime communication. The Jotron Group has operations in Norway, UK, US, Lithuania and Singapore, as well as an agent-network covering the world. Jotron has a long tradition in safety products and maritime communication and offers a complete range of maritime Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) products. EMERGENCY POSITION-INDICATING RADIO BEACON (EPIRB)In 1970 Jotron developed and installed the world’s first distress radio beacon on-board a ship. Since that time tens of thousands of Tron EPIRBs have been installed onboard a wide variety of ships worldwide. In addition, Jotron participated in the development and testing of the Cospas Sarsat satellite system in the 1980s, culminating in 1989 with the world’s first product approval of a 406MHz float-free EPIRB for the TRON 30S. Today Jotron is still considered to be a world-leading manufacturer of high-tech, high-quality EPIRBs that conform to current international regulations and meet the demands of the commercial, marine, fishing, offshore and leisure industries. SEARCH AND RESCUE TRANSPONDERSFor several years, Jotron has been one of the world’s leading producers of Search And Rescue Transponders (SART). Jotron’s Tron SART designed for use in search and rescue operations and indicates the exact location of the distressed vessel on the radar X-band display of any nearby ship, SAR vessel or aircraft. S-VDR FLOAT-FREE STORAGE CAPSULEJotron was the first company in the world to receive a full type approval on the new S-VDR float-free storage medium. The Tron S-VDR CAPSULE complies with IMO international requirements for S-VDR systems, concerning the final recording medium. This product allows users to avoid the high cost of an underwater search for the FRM. The Tron S-VDR capsule will make the S-VDR information available at the surface, even if the vessel goes down. HAND-PORTABLE VHF RADIOSJotron has over ten years’ experience producing handheld maritime VHF radios for emergency and regular onboard voice communication. These radios have met the GMDSS regulations as well as distress channel for aeronautical radio systems (121.5MHz and 123.1 MHz). EMERGENCY AND MARKING LIGHTSJotron produce a wide range of maritime lights. Typical applications include marking of different types of fishing equipment, fish farms, offshore installations, lifebuoys, lifeboats and personal marker lights. AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMSince 2004 Jotron has produced Automatic Identification Systems (AIS). AIS are broadcast communication systems operating in the VHF maritime band, capable of sending ship information to other ships and to shore. The Jotron AIS program consists of a full shipborne unit (TR-2500), a receiver-only unit (RA-2500) and a base station unit (TR-2600). PHONTECH VOICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMSReliable voice communication from the conning position to the engine room to accommodation areas is vital for all ship operations. Jotron Phontech can offer a proven and reliable range of products. In use for more than 20 years, the range has been carefully designed and built for harsh marine operations and environments. Our systems are in use worldwide on merchant ships, fishing vessels, tug boats, offshore supply vessels and different oil and gas offshore constructions. MARITIME SOFTWARE SOLUTIONSJotron Consultas is a specialist maritime software provider. Our solutions are an invaluable tool for many of the world’s leading maritime companies, helping them to improve both overall safety and general ship management, whilst simultaneously reducing operational costs. The Consultas range consists of the loading computer, which meets the industry standards for loading calculations on most types of ships and rigs, and provides users with an efficient calculation and reporting tool. The company also offers a wide variety of software tools to handle various ship-management tasks onboard vessels and from central offices.
