Trelleborg Industrial AVS supplies anti-vibration mountings and suspension systems, under the brand name Metalastik®, to marine customers including ship-builders, engine builders and manufacturers of special ship-borne equipment. Metalastik® mountings are designed for a wide variety of ships, such as passenger vessels, naval vessels and leisure boats. By reducing vibration and structure-borne noise, Trelleborg mountings make an important contribution to the standard of comfort now expected by passengers and crew. Applications include main propulsion engines, generator sets, auxiliary machinery, exhaust systems and deckhouse / super-structure isolation. CUSHYFLOAT VIBRATION MOUNTINGS AND CONTROLSTrelleborg's CUSHYFLOAT mounting is an ideal general-purpose unit that provides effective isolation of vibration and noise arising from both static and mobile equipment. These mountings are predominantly used in medium- and high-speed marine propulsion units. Trelleborg's new range of HT CUSHYFLOAT mountings are designed for high-performance engine applications in which the effects of torque produce thrust and load transfer on the mounts. CUSHYMOUNT AND CUSHYMOUNT 'K' ANTI-VIBRATION MOUNTINGSCUSHYMOUNT anti-vibration mountings are particularly suited for the suspension of medium speed diesel engines used for marine main propulsion and auxiliary power generation applications. These long-life mountings, which provide a large load capacity and large deflection, can also be used for exhaust systems and deckhouse suspensions. SIM MOUNTING FOR VIBRATION ISOLATION IN MARINE ENGINESIdeal for mobile applications, SIM mountings feature a soft vertical stiffness that enables suspension of marine engines both with and without thrust. SIM mountings are predominantly used for vibration isolation of small- to medium-sized machines. D, SUPER D AND DX SERIES MOUNTINGS FOR MARINE PROPULSION ENGINES AND DIESEL GENERATORSD and Super D mountings are ideal where isolation of low frequency vibration is required, e.g. in marine propulsion engines, diesel generators and heavy machinery. Commonly used for shock isolation on-board military vessels, these mountings have a displacement capacity of up to 50mm in all directions. DX mountings offer, in addition, a modular design accommodating varied load configurations, customer specific fixing points, excellent acoustic performance and shock displacement in excess of 75mm in all directions. RECTANGULAR MOUNTS OR 'SANDWICH' ELEMENTSDesigned for the suspension of medium-speed propulsion engines and generator sets, these highly stable mounts minimise movement at flexible connections, whilst maintaining soft spring rates for the best vibration and noise isolation. EQUI-FREQUENCY MOUNTS FOR MARINE ENGINE ISOLATIONDesigned to support and isolate marine propulsion engines, generator sets, gas turbine engines and machinery rafts, these mounting systems have similar horizontal and vertical stiffness characteristics. Static loads can be supported from 40kN to 215kN per mount. MARINE APPROVED MOUNTINGS - CUSTOMISED DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AND SERVICESMany mounting applications require a custom-designed solution and one of Trelleborg Industrial AVS' major strengths is its experience in analysing and modelling anti-vibration and suspension system characteristics to achieve optimum performance. Our Marine Application team will help you find the best solution for your requirements, by carrying out measurement and testing. The team also conducts training. The majority of mountings produced by Trelleborg Industrial AVS for marine applications have Lloyds Register Approval and det Norske Veritas Classification Society Type Approval.
