Electric drives are not the only systems whose characteristics are improved by Voith Turbo fluid couplings. Fluid couplings are also highly suited to carry out the start-up and clutching in drives with diesel and gas engines. Other properties of Voith fluid couplings, such as damping torsional vibrations and protecting the system against overload, are equally beneficial in diesel drives.
