JP Sauer & Sohn Maschinenbau - Offshore CompressorsJP Sauer & Sohn Maschinenbau (Sauer & Sohn), with headquarters in Kiel, Germany, offers a complete range of highly developed, reliable and economical compressors for the shipping and naval industries. Products include air-cooled compressors, water-cooled compressors and screw compressors. AIR-COOLED COMPRESSORSTwo-stage, air-cooled compressors for main start air have been used for several decades on vessels including coastal ships, offshore supply boats and tugs, providing excellent reliability as well as simple maintenance. In the early seventies, Sauer & Sohn introduced the first three-stage unit, the WP100L, and since then, several hundred units have been installed on board various ships including cruise liners, ferries, oil tankers and cargo vessels. Six three-stage, air-cooled compressors make up the range, all capable of operating at pressures of up to 45 bar, with capacities ranging between 60 and 360 m³/h. There are many other advantages including:
WATER-COOLED COMPRESSORSSimilar to other marine compressor designers, Sauer offered a range of vertical, two-stage, water-cooled compressors. These units were designed in the 1950s and 1960s and were stressed to their maximum parameters, both in running speed and operating pressures, thus resulting in poor reliability and difficult maintenance. In the 90s, Sauer & Sohn, along with several other leading marine manufacturers of air compressors, introduced a highly modern range of water-cooled units suitable for handling fresh or seawater as cooling medium. These compressors are designed with the cylinders positioned in a 90° V-configuration resulting in an almost perfect balance of the units. These compressors are distinguished by many advantages, including:
There are three compressors in the range providing capacities from 110 to 430 m³/h at pressures of up to 30 bar. SCREW COMPRESSORSFor general service and control air applications, Sauer & Sohn offers a highly modern range of air-cooled, silenced screw compressors operating at pressures of up to 13 bar. This most comprehensive range of machines covers outputs of up to 1100 m³/h. In addition to air-cooled unites, water-cooled units are also offered. NAVY COMPRESSORSIn addition to compressors for application in merchant ships, Sauer & Sohn offers shock and vibration proof navy compressors such as the unique WP 5000 with 100% free inertial forces for the use in naval combat ships such as aircraft carriers, frigates and submarines. SERVICE Service station and agents throughout the world guarantee the necessary after sales support and spare parts supply. MANUFACTURING PROGRAM
