Each industrial customer application has its own specific demands. The new WP6000 compressor or gas booster is a totally flexible innovative design from Sauer designed to match customers' individual specifications perfectly.

With the ability to fit up to six cylinders, the compressor or gas booster can handle much larger volumes of air, extending the current Sauer range's capability to deliver air or gas at any pressure from 10bar to 400bar with flow-rates from 250m³/h to 2000m³/h. With the sealed 'leak-tight' pressurised crankcase, it can compress gases with a suction pressure anywhere from 0bar to 18bar.

CUSTOMISABLE COMPRESSOR OR GAS BOOSTER

For high pressure, high-volume air compression, it may be that only four cylinders with three stages are needed; or it may need six cylinders of different sizes. Whatever the gas application and the suction pressure, the new WP6000 can be individually engineered to meet specific customer requirements.

WATER-COOLED COMPRESSORS

Based upon Sauer's vast experience with water-cooled navy compressors which are used in submarines or aircraft carriers, the WP6000 is cooled by freshwater. Water-cooled compressors remain the 'workhorse' for industry, especially such a large compressor as the WP6000, which is powered by an electric motor or diesel engine from 90kW up to 230kW.

Hazardous areas are not a problem for the new WP6000. If required the crankcase will be a sealed 'pressure vessel' which means expensive or explosive gases can be economically and safely compressed without gas loss.

RELIABLE COMPRESSOR COMPONENTS

While the new WP6000 is an innovative water-cooled concept; the moving parts (pistons, rings, valves, oil lubrication, etc.), are selected from Sauer's standard components, which are used in thousands of compressors each year for proven performance and reliability.

The innovation comes from Sauer's capability to utilise in-house selection of the right combination of compression stages and piston sizes; and – crucially – optimise both inter-stage water-cooling, and the oil and water separators. Whatever the customer's specification, the WP6000 can, using any combination of cylinders or compression stages, be readily adapted to meet the precise requirements for flow and pressure.
