Bogerd Martin - Navigation Charts and Nautical Publications for the Shipping Industry

Bogerd Martin is a Belgium-based company that stocks a complete selection of charts, electronic navigation charts, nautical publications and all related UKHO publications for the shipping industry. The company is the amalgamation of two Antwerp chart agencies, Martin & Co, established in 1911, and Bogerd NV, established in 1946.

Bogerd Martin has offices in Antwerp, Shanghai and Tianjin. The Antwerp head office carries a very large stock of charts, nautical publications and related marine material. This office serves the Northern Europe and Mediterranean region.

The Shanghai office deals with all contacts between the head office and Chinese ship owners and shipyards. Apart from the supply of charts and publications the Shanghai office also deals with supplies of safety equipment and other technical equipments for shipyards. The Tianjin office is a stockholding centre that services vessels in the Pacific area and offers a fast and efficient service to the Chinese market.

Nautical charts and publications

Bogerd Martin, one of the leading International Admiralty Chart Agents, stocks a variety of publications for the marine industry. All of our charts are continuously corrected by our own chart correctors to ensure that supplies are always up-to-date. Folio management services provide ships and their owners with a method of ensuring that they carry the latest editions of charts and publications.

Bogerd Martin specialises in posting supplies at short notice to any port in the world, providing a one-stop solution for ship-owners and managers. Through its distribution offices in China and Belgium, Bogerd Martin is strategically positioned to ensure delivery, on time, to any part of the world.

Additionally, Bogerd Martin offers the Chart-Track system of chart and publications management that includes weekly emails to mariners about tracings and notices.

Electronic navigation charts

Bogerd Martin can offer a complete advisory and supply service for electronic navigation charts (ENCs). We can provide a very fast response to requests by using in-house software to generate permits. This means that we can provide a licence for additional charts on an existing licence within minutes. This licence, in the form of a data file, is emailed to the vessel and will allow the user access to the ENC's which have been pre-loaded into the ECDIS.

New licences for a vessel that has not had electronic charts on board are also set up in minutes but the necessary CDs need to be on board before the licence can be activated. These can be sent from any of our offices to any port of call around the world. Updated CDs are sent at regular intervals to a suitable port where they can be delivered to the vessel.

Vector charts for the shipping industry

Various vectorised electronic charts are available both from official Hydrographic sources as from private sector manufacturers. As a leading distributor of the UKHO , we offer the Admiralty Vector Chart Service ( AVCS) that comprises the most complete coverage of ENC's available today.

We also supply private sector data from Jeppesen C-MAP and Transas who also produce excellent and cost-effective vectorised charts with good world coverage.
