Wilhelm Sander Fertigung supplies marine valves remote-controlled by hydraulic, pneumatic or electric actuators, tank-level systems for ballast, bilge and fuel oil systems, and automation to control these systems.
The company ensures fewer interface problems by providing package deliveries. The valves are combined with the correct actuator, and connected to an automation system. All parts are supplied by Wilhelm Sander, meaning fewer worries when starting and operating the system. Strict quality control enables Wilhelm Sander to grant a long warranty period.
Remote-control valve systems and remote-controlled valves
Wilhelm Sander is one of the few companies worldwide that produces both remote-control valve systems and remote-controlled valves (butterfly valves, globe valves, gate valves, etc.).
The company delivers a complete range of valves, and can source customized valves to complete the perfect package. The remote control system is managed by SANSYS automation, which can also provide:
- Anti-heeling control system
- Level gauging system
- Draught measuring system
- Temperature measuring system
Hydraulic actuators for linear or rotary movement
Wilhelm Sander Fertigung hydraulic actuators are designed and produced for linear movement (globe valves, gate valves, etc.) or rotary movements of 0.9in (butterfly valves, ball valves, etc.)
The main features include:
- Constant torque-output compact design
- Space-saving installation (hollow shaft with parallel keys)
- ISO flange connection
- Adjustable stop
- Mechanical position-indicator
- Any desired remote position-indicator
- Submersible installation
Wilhelm Sander position indicators are accepted by well-known classification societies. Distribution boxes contain solenoid-operated pilot valves for distribution of the high-pressure oil to the actuators and, if used, the volume indicators for measuring the position of the valves.
Remote position-indication systems
Wilhelm Sander offers two different remote position-indication systems:
- Direct indication via electric limit switches and proximity switches
- Potentiometers installed directly via the actuators
They are used for hydraulic, pneumatic or electric remote-controlled valves, indirect indication via volume indicator with digital or analogue indication, or pressure / flow controllers for hydraulic remote-controlled valves.
Hydraulic power units for central oil supply
The hydraulic power units for the central oil supply for remote-controlled valves work automatically in switched-off or idle-running operation. The arrangement of all components permits easy access for maintenance and inspection purposes. The pumps are arranged inside the tank for noiseless running. The standard series of power units are equipped with tanks of 75l, 150l, 220l and 400l tanks.
Remote control systems for valves
Wilhelm Sander's remote control systems are used for the handling of valves in ballast, bilge, fuel oil, liquid cargo and LNG / LPG systems on seagoing ships. The main components are:
- Control stations
- Distribution boxes
- Hydraulic power units
- Valves with actuators
Piping systems visualization and automation
The SANSYS system provides visualization and automation of different piping systems. This ensures remote control and position indication of all valves included in the system. The control systems are tailor-made according to shipyards' specifications and classification societies' requirements.
The SANSYS is designed to include other components as tank-level gauging system, anti-heeling system, loading computer, etc. Due to technical expertise and many years of experience, Wilhelm Sander's engineers are always willing to assist the shipyard in order to select the best solution.
Belonging to one of Europe's largest valve stockists, Wilhelm Sander keeps records about every project that it delivers. Ship owners can therefore always get the exact spare valve they need, even ten years after the first delivery.
The company's actuators are reliable and manufactured to last, meaning there is less need for spare parts during the operation time. The automation system can be monitored through the telephone line in case of problems.
