At the upcoming Ballast Water Management Technology (BWMTech) conference in London, DESMI Ocean Guard CEO Rasmus Folsø will be sharing experiences obtained with the US Coast Guard type-approval process of ballast water treatment systems.
DESMI Ocean Guard’s RayClean ballast water treatment system is among the first systems in the world to have completed a full USCG type-approval test program.
The title of the presentation is ‘USCG type-approval process: the manufacturer’s experience so far’, and it will address differences between the IMO G8 test guideline and the USCG test requirements.
This includes differences in landbased tests, shipboard tests, and environmental equipment testing.
The presentation will also touch on the progress made regarding USCG type-approval of UV based systems.
The third day of the conference will be a special focus day titled ‘A practical guide to G8 and USCG type-approval process’.
During the focus day, Mr. Folsø will be delivering a speech regarding experience with type-approval testing according to USCG requirements.
