Hyde Marine will showcase a skid-mounted Hyde GUARDIAN® HG150 Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) suitable for small-to-medium Offshore Service Vessels (OSV) and ferries at booth R4136U in Hall 4 (second floor) in collaboration with Marcon West, during Neva, September 24-27, 2013 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The HG150 BWTS (100 m3/hr to 150 m3/hr) is ideal for medium flow ballast system applications. Vessels that have short runs, operate in multiple salinities, or require quick turnarounds have a safe, efficient solution to meet their ballast pumping needs while not interfering with vessel operations or requiring extra crew time.

In 2011, the Hyde GUARDIAN® unit became the first BWT System to gain Type Approval from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). Recently Hyde Marine received orders from the Far Eastern Shipbuilding Co. (FESCO), one of Russia's largest transportation and logistics holdings and a leader of intermodal transportation from the Asia-Pacific region through the Russian transcontinental transit route to European ports. FESCO will install the HG450 BWTS onto two tankers and the HG100 BWTS onto two multipurpose vessels.
The chemical free Hyde GUARDIAN treatment process uses filtration and ultraviolet disinfection, scaled according to required capacity, to treat ships' ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species from port to port. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) Type Approved Hyde GUARDIAN systems offer a compact, modular design, with low power consumption, low-pressure drop, and simple, fully automatic operation. These advantages make it a technically attractive and cost-effective solution for any type of vessel.

The Hyde GUARDIAN unit received International Maritime Organization (IMO) Type Approval in April 2009 and was the first BWT System accepted into the U.S. Coast Guard's (USCG) Shipboard Technology Evaluation Program (STEP). Calgon Carbon's UV Technology Division and Hyde Marine also received ISO 9001:2008 accreditation from the registrar Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and the ANAB National Accreditation Board in 2010. And, in spring 2013, the Hyde GUARDIAN became one of the first BWT systems to earn Alternate Management System (AMS) approval from the USCG.
