In Pictures: virtual thrills aboard Anthem of the seas
The newest addition to Royal Caribbean’s luxury cruise range, Anthem of the Seas promises a tech-packed, interactive voyage on board of the “world’s most revolutionary cruise ship”. From futuristic bionic barmen to skydiving and surfing simulators, join in on a visual tour of the ship’s standout features.
Truly breathtaking views can be found on the top deck towards the bow of the ship, from where the North Star rises 300 feet above sea level. A 15-minute journey in the air via a jewel-shaped glass capsule opens up a 360-degrees panorama across the ship and into the horizon. As tall as Lady Liberty, the North Star has a capacity of 14 guests at a time and is one of the most symbolic features of the Quantum ships.
Ripcord by iFLY skydive simulator
Relaxing views are complemented by thrill-inducing facilities: central to the main deck is iFLY, a simulated skydiving experience which propels geared-up enthusiasts floating into the air. Inside the 23-foot tall glass flight chamber, iFLY uses powerful fans which generate winds of up to 175mph, thus creating a "vertical wind tunnel". Anthem passengers can enjoy the airflow for one minute at a time, accompanied by an instructor.
