ABB to Deliver Electrical Equipment for Netherlands Firm
ABB has secured a $12m order to deliver an integrated power and propulsion plant for a deepwater construction vessel to be built by Netherlands-based Ulstein Sea of Solutions at Daewoo Marine and Shipbuilding Engineering in South Korea.
The vessel will be delivered to Dutch firm Heerema Marine Contractors by mid-2013, while ABB will complete its part of the works in the fourth quarter of 2012.
The monohull Aegir will execute deepwater infrastructure and pipe laying projects in ultra deepwater for the offshore oil and gas industry, and execute the installation of fixed platforms in shallow waters.
The 210m-long self-propelled vessel will have a capacity to carry 289 passengers and will be equipped with a class 3 dynamic positioning system.
