Daewoo Secures Italian Ship Order
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has secured a $300m newbuild order from Italian-based Ignazio Messina.
The company will build four roll on / roll off container ships scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2013, DSME said.
In December, Daewoo secured orders for special-purpose vessels worth $750m, according to seatradeasia-online.com.
The company is also engaged in final negotiations for a $2.5bn order by the end of the year.
