Crystal Debussy is one of the four identical Rhine-Class luxury river cruise ships built for Crystal River Cruises by MV WERFTEN at its Wismar shipyard in Germany.

Construction began on the vessel and its sister ship Crystal Ravel following a steel-cutting ceremony held in January 2017. Keel-laying ceremony for both vessels was held in May 2017.

Delivered in spring 2018, the ships sail on the Rhine, Main, Danube, and Moselle rivers.

The remaining two ships in the class, Crystal Bach and Crystal Mahler, were delivered in August and September 2017 respectively.

Crystal Debussy design and features

The design of Crystal Debussy meets the demand of the growing European luxury river cruise market. The ship also complies with safety and travel standards.

Staff and crew cabins of the ship are positioned aft of the lower deck, which also houses an engine room and fuel tanks. The forward section of the deck accommodates ballast and freshwater tanks.

Luxury suites and galley areas are designed by ALMACO Group under contract with MV WERFTEN. The six-star rated cruiser offers a high guest-crew ratio.

The river boat has a length of 135m,width of 11m and gross tonnage of 3,100t. It features four passenger decks and accommodates up to 106 passengers with a crew of 55.

Public spaces feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls, which provide views of the surrounding landscape.

Staterooms on board Crystal Debussy

Staterooms available on board the vessel include a two-bedroom Crystal Suite, the River Suite Deluxe, and the Petite Suite, featuring panoramic balcony windows.

The 759ft² two-bedroom Crystal Suite is furnished with king-size beds, a bathroom, seating area, and dining table for four guests. The River Suite Deluxe cabins occupy an area of 250ft² and feature a bathroom with double vanities, walk-in wardrobes, American king-size beds, a coffee machine, and refrigerator.

Petite Suites extend over an area of 188ft² and are furnished with a king-size bed, full-length mirror, and a bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and hairdryer. In-suite amenities include a wall-mounted HD television, refrigerator, and coffee machine.

Butler service is offered for all room categories of the cruise ship.

Dining and entertainment venues on Crystal Debussy

The river cruise ships feature three gourmet restaurants, Waterside, Bistro Cafe, and The Vintage Room. The Waterside is the main dining room serving breakfast, lunch, and an open-seating diner.

Bistro Cafe offers renowned coffees, charcuterie and pastries, while The Vintage Room serves special wine-paired dinners. Deck 4 features a sun deck bar and grill with large-screen TV.

Palm Court is equipped with a dance floor, seating areas, a bar, and a glass-domed roof. Other entertainment and wellness facilities on board the ship include a swimming pool, a library, a spa and a fitness centre, as well as sporting equipment, including electric bicycles, kayaks, and jet skis.

Crystal Debussy itineraries

Crystal Debussy embarked on its maiden voyage of a seven-day round-trip itinerary in April 2018 from Amsterdam to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, as well as Ghent, Antwerp, and Middelberg in Belgium.

The ship sails upon seven and ten day trips between Amsterdam and Basel along the Rhine and Moselle rivers throughout 2018 and 2019.
