GF Piping Systems has released the COOL-FIT 2.0 pre-insulated PE100 plastic piping system to meet the comfort and safety needs of the modern society.

The company will be showcasing the new system at SMM 2018 in Hamburg, Germany, from 4-7 September.

COOL-FIT 2.0 is the non-corroding, non-condensing solution for the transport of chilled water in climate control systems inside residential and commercial buildings, as well as for data centers and industrial process cooling.

The system uses the tried and tested electrofusion jointing technique known from the ELGEF system, with industrial grade PE100 as the carrier pipe. All components are pre-insulated with GFHE* insulation (0.022W/mK), together with a load-bearing robust outer jacket in black HD-PE or stainless steel. This unique combination leads to highly competitive characteristics, including:

  • Corrosion free
  • 50% faster installation
  • 25% higher energy efficiency

COOL-FIT 2.0 is a PN16 system suitable for fluid temperatures from 0°C to 60°C. The carrier pipe / jacket dimensions range from d32mm / 75mm to d140mm / 200mm. Both pipe and fittings are pre-insulated with GFHE* to a thickness of 20 millimetres. GF valves, plastic to metal transitions, as well as hoses for easy connection to appliances are all also provided pre-insulated.

The pre-insulated system is revolutionary efficient to reduce running costs and CO2 footprint. U-values (heat transfer) of COOL-FIT 2.0 pipe are between 1W/mK and 3.8W/mK, up to 25% better than traditional steel pipes with foamed NBR rubber insulation.

COOL-FIT 2.0 combines three products, carrier pipe, insulation and jacket, into one revolutionary new product. The three-in-one concept ensures ‘on-site’ time is reduced to an absolute minimum. No post insulation of pipe system and no time consuming and expensive pre-insulated pipe supports or blocks are required.
