Indonesia-based logistics and shipping company, PT Pelita Samudera Shipping (PT PSS) has chosen BASSnet™ software solutions to enhance the management of its highly valued shipping assets. Upgrading the efficiency of the well-known ship manning firm marks BASS’ foray into the Indonesian market and reflects its expanding presence in Asia.
BASSnet™ Maintenance and BASSnet™ Procurement modules that PT PSS is deploying demonstrate the best advantages that BASSnet™ Fleet Management Systems provide in streamlining, integrating and connecting complex shipping operations.
BASSnet™ Maintenance module enables users to plan and execute the maintenance of their fleet with a high level of efficiency. Meanwhile BASSnet™ Procurement is designed to streamline purchasing activities and optimise the purchasing cycle. In addition, BASSnet™ software is built on the latest Microsoft .NET platform to ensure future-proof operations.
"After an extensive evaluation of the various fleet management software in the market, we are very pleased to have selected BASS’ software solutions to future proof our operations," said PT PSS Director, Hans Peter Glipman Jorgensen.
BASS’ Regional Sales Manager, Derrick Lee expressed confidence that this software solution will soon show results for Pelita Samudera’s bottom line.
"BASS is dedicated to providing a holistic solution to the diverse needs of ship owners and operators. We provide a business solution that streamlines and automates processes across the organisation and fleet for achieving the efficiency gains that can make or break a business in the current turbulent environment," Derrick said.
For BASS, the contract with PT PSS is an important marker as its first client in the exciting Indonesian market. Derrick added, "We have been working on the Indonesian segment for a while now. This contract gives us an entry point to a vast field in shipping, crew management, rigs, floating production, storage and offloading facilities and offshore units."
"With PT PSS in our portfolio, we see many others seeking to enjoy the benefits of our future-proof software solutions," Derrick said.
As Indonesia’s strong growth as an economic powerhouse is a favourable indicator for the shipping industry, and it is also a favourite of fund managers due to its upside potential, this contract puts BASS in a strategic position for business development in the Asian market.
BASS’ progress in Asia and further afield is reflected in the inroads it has made recently into several new regions, with the signing of a number of big names as clients. Among them are Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines, Durban-based Grindrod Shipping, German-based Oldendorff Carriers and Philippine-based Sandingan Shipping, to name a few.
