Anode Service Cathodic Anodes to Prevent Corrosion on Ships

Anode Service is a specialist supplier of standard and custom-made aluminium and zinc anodes to new-build and maintenance ship projects.
In addition to manufacturing our own anodes, we have strong connections with other European component manufacturers that allow us to provide the highest quality anodes.
Protection from ship metal corrosion
Standard aluminium and zinc anodes are readily available in all sizes, ready to be bolted or welded onto a ship. All our anodes are produced in Europe and, if required, we can provide a traceable production history with relevant testing on their alloy composition.
Alongside our standard product line, we can also cast anodes in all shapes and sizes using the necessary alloy material, meeting all customer specifications.
Environmentally friendly aluminium anodes for marine vessels
Zinc anodes are integrated as a standard measure for corrosion prevention in many ship maintenance plans, primarily used on the hulls of vessels operating in saltwater environments.
Aluminium anodes have been proven to be just as effective as zinc, using less material to provide the same level of protection. This means that fewer anodes have to be used in the cathodic protection plan.
Aluminium anodes last 25% longer than zinc, and the lack of cadmium makes them more environmentally friendly.
Organic growth prevention systems for ships
Anti-fouling anodes are designed to prevent biofouling and marine waste building up on ship cooling systems.
A combination of copper and aluminium anodes protects box cooler systems from corrosion and fouling in all water temperatures and depths without having an impact on the marine environment.
Galvanic anodes for vessel corrosion protection
Anodes are used on ship hulls, rudders, propellers, bows and box coolers, while designed to make the aluminium, zinc or copper a more active alloy to protect the steel of a ship when it is welded or bolted on.
The galvanic anode works by dissolving in the water, which functions as an electrolyte. The anode self-destructs in order to protect the vessel by corroding. It is then ready to be replaced during the next dry dock.
