ProCurve Glass Design has updated installation and maintenance guidelines for installers of marine glazing products.

These guidelines address the use of caulks, sealants, and adhesives during the installation process. The installer is advised against the use of products that contain plasticizers because of the potential for a negative interaction between the glass and laminate interlayer. Other recommendations address the use of filler products, solvents, and cleaners that could degrade the laminate.

Maintenance recommendations focus on the potential causes of laminated glass failure that include the ongoing presence of moisture in continuous contact with the edge of the glass, the presence of solvents in cleaning supplies, and the incompatibility of the interlayer with the applied caulk material.
