Pains Wessex showcased a full range of marine distress signals at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam.
At the show, held from November 18-20 2008, members of the company also met a selection of Pains Wessex worldwide distributors who travelled from as far away as Canada, Japan and Australia.
Pains Wessex product manager Keith Bradford says, “As usual, METS was excellent. We were able to conduct some important meetings to consolidate and build on our relationships with stockists and re-enforce our position as the leading supplier of marine distress signals worldwide. We also saw other interested suppliers, potential customers and end users.”
Pains Wessex exhibited the complete range of its SOLAS-approved marine distress signals on its stand 03.207 in the British Pavilion, Hall 3. Also featured were personal and compact distress signals for the marine, aviation and outdoor sectors.
The SOLAS range sets the industry standard for styling, size and method of operation. The hand signals are more compact, being designed mainly for use in life rafts, where stowage space is always at an absolute premium thereby saving vital space in rafts compared to previous products.
All Pains Wessex products – Red Handflare Mk8, Para Red Rocket Mk8, Buoysmoke Mk 2, Manoverboard 360 signal and Linethrowers – conform to the stringent Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) standards and have gained Marine Equipment Directive (MED) approval, along with other national approvals where required, such as USCG and Japanese MOT.
Visitors to the METS also surfed the Pains Wessex website to gain awareness of the online availability of datasheets and training videos.
