Greece-based Arcadia Shipmanagement has selected American Bureau of Shipping’s (ABS) enterprise asset management (EAM) programme to further improve the reliability of its 15 tanker vessels.

The ABS Advanced Solutions AEM programme is developed to help vessel owners and operators to manage various physical assets from design to decommissioning in order to optimise use, reduce costs, as well as improve vessel reliability and efficiency.

The solution comprises a number of elements such as an asset lifecycle management strategy, computerised maintenance management system utilisation, inventory management, planning, scheduling, and process automation.

It also includes performance optimisation, as well as maintenance and reliability strategies.

Arcadia Shipmanagement CEO Dimitris Mattheou said: “We are confident in the ABS approach and look to validate our processes with a strategic focus to improve our tankers efficiency and reliability, leveraging their technical expertise and strong EAM experience.

“The outcome of this work will make a significant contribution to our current efforts to strengthen our asset management process.”

Arcadia’s current fleet of vessels includes eight Aframax and seven Suezmax tankers.

“The outcome of this work will make a significant contribution to our current efforts to strengthen our asset management process.”

The company also operates a Maritime Training Center with ship simulators within its premises in Greece.

ABS Advanced Solutions senior vice-president Richard Pride said: “Arcadia Shipmanagement’s implementation of the ABS Enterprise Asset Management programme is a powerful endorsement of our comprehensive approach and process.”

In June, ABS secured a deal from Minerva Marine to provide its Advanced Solutions AEM programme.

Minerva Marine operates a fleet of 65 tankers and six bulk carriers with a total capacity of more than 8.5 million tonnes.
