Carnival Cruise Line is expanding its Excel-class fleet with a new vessel named Carnival Jubilee, which is set to be delivered in 2023.

The vessel, which is the cruise company’s third in the Excel-class segment, will be based in Galveston, Texas, US.

Additionally, the company stated that all of its 22 US-based vessels will recommence services by March next year.

Carnival Jubilee will join the company’s other two Excel-class ships, Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration.

Mardi Gras has been operating from Port Canaveral since earlier in the year, while Carnival Celebration will be based in Miami and is scheduled for delivery in late 2022.

Mardi Gras is also said to be the first liquefied natural gas (LNG)-driven cruise ship to sail in North America.

These Excel-class ships feature an LNG technology platform.

With a capacity to house more than 5,400 guests and 1,700 crew members, Carnival Jubilee will have 182,800 gross tonnes.

Its features will include the BOLT roller coaster on the top deck, newly designed suites and staterooms, a three-deck atrium on the starboard side of the vessel, and six fun-filled zones.

Carnival Jubilee will operate on seven-day western Caribbean itineraries and open for sale in early 2022.

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said: “Carnival was the first cruise line to offer year-round cruising from Galveston in 2000, and we have continued to grow our presence and support of the Port of Galveston’s expansion, so we are thrilled to bring our brand-new Carnival Jubilee to Texas and the greater southwest region.”

In June, Carnival Cruise Line announced that it is expanding its fleet with the addition of two more ships by 2023.
