South Korean engineering and design firm Gas Entec has won a contract from Sembcorp Marine Integrated Yard to engineer, procure and build a cargo handling system for an LNG bunker vessel.

Mitsui OSK Lines’ Singapore-based subsidiary Indah Singa Maritime owns the 12,000m³ ship. The vessel is scheduled to be delivered by 2021. It will have a length and width of 112m and 22m respectively.

Being constructed at Sembcorp Marine Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore, the carrier will feature dual-fuel engines powered by LNG or marine diesel oil.

The ship will leverage GTT Flex III membrane technology for the cargo containment tanks.

Gas Entec CEO Chong-Ho Kwak said: “Gas Entec is honoured to work with Sembcorp Marine for the landmark 12,000 CBM LNG bunker vessel project, which will be the largest bunker ship to operate in Asia when it enters in service in 2021.

“We are excited to be a part of this prestigious project and will continue to work very hard to deliver to the immense responsibility and trust placed on us.”
