Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has announced that the Indian embassy in Tokyo is offering assistance to those onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which has been quarantined at Yokohama.

Two Indians tested positive for the Covid-19 coronavirus on the ship. On 13 February, the Japanese authorities stated that the total positive cases on the ship had increased to 218.

The cruise ship was carrying 1,045 crew and 2,666 passengers when it docked at Yokohama. The cruise has 138 Indian passengers and crew onboard.
