France-based BOURBON has signed a new strategic agreement with Kongsberg Maritime to develop innovative digital solutions for connected and autonomous vessels.
The agreement will see the two companies develop joint projects in order to devise new ways of enhancing operational efficiency in the offshore services industry.

It will also explore and implement technical and digital solutions to improve the safety and cost-efficiency of marine activities.
In addition, Kongsberg will assist BOURBON to gain access to high-quality aggregated data from vessels and develop new operating solutions.
The deal will also see BOURBON help Kongsberg to better understand client operations and gain access to information from its fleet, including communications, cybersecurity, storage and management data.

BOURBON currently possesses a modern and standardised fleet of more than 513 vessels and 37 operating affiliates, and conducts operations in 45 countries.
The company mainly serves offshore oil and gas industry.

Kongsberg announced its collaboration with Yara last month, which will see the construction of the world's first autonomous and zero-emissions ship.
