Marine robotics firm Ocean Infinity has acquired maritime security services company Ambrey.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

This acquisition combines Ocean Infinity’s robotic vessels, artificial intelligence, data, cyber and low emission operations with Ambrey.

Ocean Infinity’s data and software capabilities will be enhanced by Ambrey’s intelligence and insurance services, whilst its robotic surface and sub-surface vessels provide increased potential for the Ambrey shipping and offshore client base.

The vessel manufacturing and fleet management capabilities of Ambrey will bring operational benefits, especially as Ocean Infinity gets closer to mobilising its ‘Armada’ fleet of robotic vessels, which is set to be the largest fleet of its type in the world.

Ocean Infinity CEO Oliver Plunkett said: “There is an immediate opportunity for robotic uncrewed vessels to play a huge role in maintaining safe operating environments for our clients.
