Finnish shipping company Viking Line said that all its ships will restart passenger services in July.

MS Mariella and MS Cinderella will restart service on 2 July on their respective routes.

Mariella will operate on the Helsinki–Tallinn route until 9 August, while MS Cinderella will sail on the Stockholm–Mariehamn route along with special cruises to Visby from Stockholm.

With the resumption of the services, all vessels of Viking Line would have returned to passenger service.

On 2 July, MS Amorella and MS Viking Grace will serve the Turku–Åland–Stockholm route, MS Gabriella on the Helsinki–Åland route and MS Rosella on the Mariehamn–Kapellskär route.

Viking Line Sales and Marketing VP Kaj Takolander said: “It is such a joy to see people returning to our ships. Our passengers have expressed their satisfaction with our range of timetable options. Holidays in the surrounding countries remain very popular and we believe that this will be a busy summer.”

During the pandemic when the travel restrictions prevented people from travelling, Viking Line deployed its ships to aid the country in the transport of essential goods.

Takolander added: “We have gone to great lengths to ensure that cruise travel is as safe as possible for everyone. For example, our pre-order service is clearly rising in popularity.

“It enables customers to order their onboard purchases in advance to be delivered safely either directly to their car or to the ship’s pick-up location. Additionally, passengers also have the possibility to take advantage of our convenient room service and order, for example, lunch to be delivered to their own cabin.”

Last week, Viking Line announced that it is the world’s first shipping company to receive verification from the Norwegian classification society DNV GL under its My Care methodology.
