Wessels Reederei-owned Wes Amelie, a container ship retrofitted with a liquefied natural gas (LNG) engine, has received LNG fuel supply through a ship-to-ship operation from the LNG bunker supply vessel Kairos.

The transfer of LNG between the two vessels marks an important step forward for gas-powered vessels.

In 2017, Nauticor carried out Wes Amelie’s first LNG bunkering in Bremerhaven.

Wes Amelie is operated by Unifeeder on a feeder route between Rotterdam and the Baltics to offer the largest feeder and shortsea network in Europe.
