Maritime technology company ZeroNorth and Veson Nautical, a commercial maritime software provider, have signed a strategic agreement.

The agreement will result in the integration of Optimise, ZeroNorth’s vessel optimisation software, with the Veson IMOS Platform (VIP), thereby enabling a seamless transfer of data for their customers.

The integration will provide VIP users, with tramp ships, an opportunity to achieve improved ship performance and optimise bunkers for increased profitability.

It will also lead to a reduction in CO₂ emissions and an improvement in the sustainability of fleets.

Optimise activates VIP fleet and vessel data by connecting it with ZeroNorth’s weather, market, and port data.

As tangible actions powered by the algorithm are generated, operators can improve their time charter equivalent rate (TCE).

Operators can also achieve cost savings, and at the same time, provide benefits to the environment while aligning with the shipping industry’s decarbonisation targets.

Veson Nautical said that approximately 300 vessels from its customers are already using or have committed to using the new integration to link and empower their data in Optimise.

ZeroNorth CEO Søren Meyer said: “Shipping needs innovative digital technologies if we are to successfully – and profitably – decarbonise. We believe that our partnership with Veson Nautical further demonstrates ZeroNorth’s continued and rapid growth trajectory, and our mission to accelerate the uptake of digital solutions that generate both dollar value and sustainability progress.

“By working with Veson, we put Optimise into the hands of more operators across tramp shipping, providing them all with the power to turn their data into actionable insights that benefit their business, our sector, and our impact on the world.”

Veson Nautical CCO Jere Richardson said: “This new integration partnership exemplifies our clear commitment to using the power of digitalisation to drive the decarbonisation and future sustainability of the shipping industry.

“Collaborating with ZeroNorth extends the value of the data captured and maintained in VIP by connecting it to a powerful tool that enables additional analysis through the lens of sustainability. This adds to VIP’s considerable suite of digital solutions that, taken together, will power the clear decisions needed to successfully face the challenges of the future.”

In a separate development, Q88, an information management and software solutions provider, and SEDNA, a smart team communication software provider, have partnered to make managing communications and data within the shipping industry simpler, more reliable, and more efficient.

The Q88 + SEDNA integration will curate appropriate data within SEDNA’s shared team inbox, thereby enabling users to view, organise, and communicate that data at a single accessible place.
