The partners, which include BG, Galp Energia and Repsol, have signed two contracts for the ships to be used in the first phase of production in the deepwater Santos basin.
The platforms will be built at the Rio Grande Naval Pole and will be completed between 2013 and 2015.
Each of the FPSOs are expected to be in operation by 2017 and will have the capacity to process up to 150,000 barrels and six million cubic metres of gas a day.
