NileDutch has signed a $200m contract to build four boxships at China’s Shanghai Shipyard.

Each of the four geared boxships will be of 3,500teu and cost $51m each.

The Dutch shipping company says the vessels will replace its quartet of 2,500teu boxships.

The ships are scheduled for delivery between 2012 and 2013 and will be deployed on Asia-to-Africa liner shipping routes, according to asiasis.com.
