Norden has ordered four Handysize newbuild vessels, with two to be built at Japan's Onomichi shipyard and the other two in Vietnam.

The pair of 37,000dwt ice-class vessels ordered at the Japanese yard will trade between Latin America and eastern Canada and are scheduled to be delivered between 2012 and 2013.

The Denmark-based shipping firm has not disclosed the price of the vessels, although it has revealed that the ships will be chartered to Rio Tinto for the transportation of alumina, generating an EBITDA of $60m-$70m.
