Cargotec Secures $28m Orders for MacGregor Cranes

Cargotec has secured new orders valued at €20m ($27.7m) to deliver fully electric-driven MacGregor cargo-handling cranes and hatch covers for eight general cargo ships. The order includes an option for equipment for a further eight ships. The general cargo vessels are

Cargotec has secured new orders valued at €20m ($27.7m) to deliver fully electric-driven MacGregor cargo-handling cranes and hatch covers for eight general cargo ships.

The order includes an option for equipment for a further eight ships.

The general cargo vessels are to be built by Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding, China, for the China Navigation Company, and are scheduled for delivery in 2013.

Each of the 31,000dwt general cargo vessels will be equipped with four cranes, with an SWL of 60t for hook operations and an SWL of 37t for grab operations.
