Rhode Nielsen Wins Dredging Vessel Contract

Rhode Nielsen has secured a contract from BLRT Grupp subsidiary Vakaru Baltijos laivu statykla to build a dredging vessel. The 3,900dwt vessel will have a length of 82m, width of 16m, draft of 5.5m and a bunker capacity of 2,500m³. The vessel will be equipped with two M

Rhode Nielsen has secured a contract from BLRT Grupp subsidiary Vakaru Baltijos laivu statykla to build a dredging vessel.

The 3,900dwt vessel will have a length of 82m, width of 16m, draft of 5.5m and a bunker capacity of 2,500m³.

The vessel will be equipped with two MAN main engines and one engine for pumping over sand.

The Danish company will start construction of the vessel in July 2011, with completion scheduled for 2012.

The vessel will be deployed at the Port of Beira in Mozambique.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
