The Visakhapatnam Port Trust of India has selected Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone to build a $66.72m coal import terminal.

India-based Mundra Port will design, build, finance, operate and transfer Berth East Quay-1.

Berth East Quay-1 will be able to handle imported coal volumes of approximately 6.5 million tonnes per year.

Mundra Port will build and commission the terminal within two years.
