Wartsila has received a contract from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to provide a total propulsion package for a new semi-submersible heavy lift vessel.
The 270m ship is being built by HHI for Dockwise Shipping, the Netherlands-based provider of transportation and logistics services for heavy marine applications.
The vessel is scheduled to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Under the contract, Wartsila will supply two 6L38 engines, two 12V38 engines and one 6L20 auxiliary engine, as well as the reduction gear system, two pitch propellers, two thrusters and one bow thruster.
