DSME secures FSRU order from Excelerate Energy

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has received a $280m order from US-based Excelerate Energy to build a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

The FSRU is scheduled to be delivered by the first quarter of 2014.

According to the reports, the vessel will have a daily processing capacity of 22.5 million cubic metres of gas.

Petrobras is offering a 15-year time-charter deal on the new FSRU, which will be capable of emitting 20 million cubic metres a day of gas.
