Pohang International Container Terminal in South Korea will start operations on 8 August, according to Mayor Park Seung-Ho.

The terminal, which is located in the south-east of the country, has a water depth of 12m and accommodates four berths, each measuring 250m long.

Initially, two berths will handle container cargo, with the other two set aside for conventional cargo.

Pohang is the gateway to Daegu and Gumi industrial zones, responsible for 15% of Korea’s total annual exports.
