APL will increase prices to $100 a container on scrap commodities in the Eastbound Europe-to-Asia route from 1 June 2009.
In the Westbound Asia-to-Europe trade lane there will be a rise of $300 a TEU for all freight to the Mediterranean and North Europe, which will come into effect on 15 June and 1 July 2009, respectively.
APL, a subsidiary of Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), operates 60 weekly services with over 500 calls at 140 ports across the world.
